6 Brands We Are Excited to See At MWC 2017 Nokia? Nokia was once a mobile giant. From…

The GSMA (Groupe Spéciale Mobile Association)'s Mobile World Congress (MWC) is the preeminent annual event for the world of mobile device technology.

Each year, the event's guest list and speakers, a veritable who's who of the mobile device and mobile marketing worlds, unveil and set the mobile trends for the fiscal year to come. This year's event in Barcelona, Spain promises to be no different.

From new media pioneers Vice to European football legend FC Barcelona to the biggest names in smartphone design and technology (and everything in between), the 2017 edition of Mobile World Congress has the mobile gadget world buzzing once more.

As a forward thinking marketing technology company looking to identify new ways to make life easy for consumers and brands, the Adimo team will, of course, be in attendance.

Will we get to see every speaker, visit every booth, and shake every hand in the building?

Probably not.

But there are a few brands at MWC 2017 that we don't want to miss, and neither should you.

6 Brands We Are Excited to See At MWC 2017

Nokia

Nokia was once a mobile giant. From the turn of the millennium until 2011, Nokia dominated the global mobile marketplace. Since 2011 however, Nokia has watched its once mighty market share fall into the hands of smartphone pioneers Apple and Samsung as its own product line slipped into obscurity.

In 2017, Nokia is looking to get back into the game by going back to its roots.

Generally regarded as the most robust phone in mobile technological history, the Nokia 3310 is expected to launch a reboot in 2017. It appears that Mobile World Congress 2017 will be the launching pad for this intriguing device, and we couldn’t be more excited to get a peek at the rebirth of a legend.

Nestle

When the Nestle corporation decided to open its “Global Digital Hub”, centralizing B2C digital applications for all of its companies in 2016, Barcelona seemed like the perfect location. How convenient that barely a year later MWC 2017 was delivered directly to the doors of the 100-strong team of digital experts working within!

As a global leader in FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods), and a trailblazer in the burgeoning world of digital marketing and retail (the very same spheres in which Adimo ourselves operate), we very much look forward to hearing about the massive digital marketing shift currently taking place within this consumer goods giant as it transitions toward the digital and mobile marketing future.

Soracom

The Internet of Things has garnered a lot of interest from the marketing world of late, and with good reason. Brands have thus far barely scratched the surface of the massive potential of IoT, and Soracom, a global leader in IoT connectivity solutions, represents the vanguard of this exciting space. The opportunity to listen to Soracom Co Founder and CTO Kenta Yasukawa explain how to build innovative IoT solutions is quite simply a can’t miss at this year’s event.

Motorola/Lenovo

When Chinese tech juggernaut Lenovo purchsed Motorola from Google in 2014 for $2.9 Billion USD (Google having purchased Motorola for $12.5 billion USD a scant 3 years earlier) many wondered if the tarnished Motorola brand was a wise bet.

3 years and one rebranding later (Lenovo has rebranded Motorola as “Moto”), Lenovo is poised for a promising show-and -tell of its latest line of Moto smarthphone devices at MWC 2017. With the Apple vs. Samsung two horse race growing increasingly stale, and an exploding Chinese marketplace, Lenovo looks well-positioned to make a splash with its Moto G5 and goosebump-raising “Moto Mods” at this year’s event.

Ads Reality

The commercialization of Augmented Reality currently presents the marketing and advertising world with some of its most exciting opportunities, and Ads Reality has been developing some of AR’s most innovative and impressive applications to date. The opportunity to see what they are currently working on, check out the latest commercial AR tech, and pick this team’s mighty brains is just too good to pass up.

Samsung

What, exactly, could one do with a mobile device screen that bends?

While we have yet to see a definitive answer to this question, there is no doubt that Samsung’s bendable high definition screen, available for viewing at MWC 2017, is extremely cool tech. Words can hardly express how excited we are to have an up close and personal look at how this bizarre and amazing mobile device development really functions.

The Adimo team is looking forward to meeting as many of the mobile and marketing world’s best and brightest as we possibly can during MWC 2017. We can be found at the Scottish Development Internation (SDI) booth, located at booth 7B31 throughout MWC 2017.

Come say hola!
